EPIC!! At over three carats, this sunstone is large and fantastically displays the color variations present. When a gemstone appears to be a different color from a different angle, the stone is considered to be “pleochroic.” Pleochroism can be found in many natural Oregon sunstones and this gemstone is a perfect example. As this stone rotates 360 degrees, the color changes from red to green to a mix of colors. As a lamp is moved across the crown of the gem, the stone’s color changes from red to a mix and back again (see second video below). This sunstone is clear of inclusions and is truly a wonder to look at! BOOM!
